In 1956, KKE started out as a Structural design firm specializing in high-rise and large-scale buildings and introduced a computational structural dynamics to Japanese construction industry in 1961.
Since then, as a leading company in this field, we have accumulated numerous achievements in design works of highly earthquake-resistant structures using base-isolation, damping devices, and other quake-resistant engineering technologies. In recent years, our efforts made quite a few contributions to the seismic reinforcement of schools and other public facilities, which are designated as disaster preparedness and evacuation centers in communities throughout Japan.
We also offer the engineering simulation approaches integrating information technologies in disaster-mitigation fields, such as multi-agent simulation technology for emergency evacuation planning after the earthquake.
- Base-isolation / Damping Devices / Earthquake-resistant Technology
- Simulation technologies for disaster risk assessment and improvement
We propose the best way to reduce the seismic risk of your building and business by the state-of-art simulations.
To what extent would the building be damaged when earthquake occurs?
We simulate such physical phenomena using the actual earthquake record and investigate the best solution to meet your seismic criteria.
Our solutions
Earthquake response analysis of high-rise buildings
The figure on the right is the calculation result obtained by a structural computation program (RESP series).
This program enables earthquake response analysis consulting for high-rise buildings with/without damping devices, or with/without base-isolation.
Structural design and supervision of high-rise buildings
The structural design and supervision of Roppongi Hills (Mori Tower) is one of our works.
As a single building, its gross floor area is the largest in Japan.
We have also participated in Shanghai World Financial Center that is located in Pudong area in Shanghai, one of the fastest-growing areas in Asia.
We have taken part in its structural design and supervision.
At 492 meters in eave height, it is the highest building completed in the world (as of 30, Nov. 2009)

Disaster mitigation planning and measures are supported not only with evaluation of physical, human, and economical damages but also with the aftermaths.
We support your decision-making for disaster mitigation plans and cost-benefit analysis using our simulation technologies.
Simulations can quantitatively assess the physical state of buildings, facilities and equipments, the economical impacts to the business, and refugee status.
Our solutions
Consulting services for earthquake risk assessment
Japanese government explicitly announces that it has entered a period of brisk seismic activity in Japanese archipelago in the 21st century.
The business continuity management is getting more and more important for companies.
We provide efficient plans for disaster mitigation from the view of "continuity" of critical operations, utilizing the various kinds of seismic simulation technologies as well as our cumulated database and knowledge in earthquake engineering fields.
Seismic analysis of important equipments
Even if the building suffers no major damage, physical or functional damage to equipments and those dependencies could cause serious problems.
We employ various kinds of seismic analysis techniques to evaluate damage state of the equipment, and propose efficient alternatives to minimize the risk.
